Issey Miyake, Vogue 1227

I finally scored this pattern on EBay. I, like many sewist collect Vogue patterns by Issey Miyake. They are Avant Garde. They celebrate the individual and they are very stylish.

Some styles are more of the moment. This Issey Miyake was published by Vogue in 1993. Many designs are timeless. I have had my eye on this coat pattern for several years. Finally it is mine.

Issey Miyake patterns always feature interesting construction detailing. This one will be a foray into welt pockets and an under arm gusset. I know better what to do to make the coat warmer than the last coat I made. There will be some warmth added with an underlining and possibly a different fleeced back lining. All in all, it will be a wonderful project for winter 2011-2012.
