I have long enjoyed the Sartorialist. “"The Sartorialist" is a fashion blog by Scott Schuman in New York. After leaving a fashion sales position to take care of his daughter in 2005, he began carrying a digital camera around on the streets of New York City, taking pictures of people who had dressed in some way that caught his eye, and then posting them to his blog, sometimes with comments about what he finds.[ He pioneered fashion photography in blog form.”…according to Wikipedia.
The Sartorialist travels all over the world taking photographs on the streets where fashion venues are happening as well as everyday people. Recently Schuman posted photographs found at the Chelsea Flea Market of an African American family. They were impeccably styled in every photograph. It so reminded me of my own saying about my late great Uncles, great Aunts and grandparents…. “They weren’t rich, but they were the best dressed men and women I knew”. They had standards of simple stylish dress that you just don’t find today. Thank you for sharing your find with the world, Scott Schuman.
